L.E.B.S. Electric Honored with Prestigious CASF Craftsmanship Award for Sprouts Farmers Market Project

Recognized for Excellence in Complex Electrical Power Systems, L.E.B.S. Electric Showcases Leadership in Florida’s Commercial and Retail Construction Sector

L.E.B.S. Electric has been awarded the prestigious Craftsmanship Award from the Construction Association of South Florida (CASF) in recognition of its exceptional electrical power work on the new Sprouts Farmers Market location. The award was presented during the 67th Annual CASF Craftsmanship Awards, held Thursday, November 20, at the Margaritaville Beach Resort in Hollywood.

This year’s customized “Custer Award,” named in honor of John E. Custer’s long-standing contributions to advancing craftsmanship excellence in South Florida, was presented to Derrick Wilburn, a standout craftsman and Electrical Foreman at L.E.B.S. Electric.

The honor underscores both Derrick’s expertise and the company’s unwavering commitment to precision, safety, and quality in delivering complex electrical power systems across South Florida. For the Sprouts Farmers Market project, Derrick led every stage of the electrical scope, from detailed blueprint interpretation and load calculations to pre-task planning, manpower scheduling, and coordination with general contractors and subtrades.

Derrick managed the installation of service panels, lighting, refrigeration power systems, fire alarm and life-safety components, energy controls, and all electrical room assemblies. His leadership ensured the project was completed on time, on budget, and passed all inspections without delay, a hallmark of a highly skilled Electrical Foreman.

“This recognition from the Construction Association of South Florida is a tremendous honor,” said Brian Chierichella, President of L.E.B.S. Electric. “The Sprouts Farmers Market Project showcases the depth of our team’s talent, craftsmanship and dedication to delivering reliable electrical power for Florida’s retail and grocery sector. We’re so proud of Derrick and the entire team for earning one of the most respected distinctions in our region’s electrical and construction industry.”

Installing New Generators and Power Systems at AdventHealth’s East Orlando Campus

LEBS Electric recently completed a project at AdventHealth’s East Orlando campus including the installation of three new 2MW generators with provisions for a future fourth plus a new building housing the Emergency Distribution Equipment (EDP) and all associated power systems. Our team also delivered a completely new network control system for the facility’s 27 existing ATS units, strengthening reliability across the entire campus.

In the photos, you’ll see the impressive 450-ton Sims crane setting two new 2MW Ring Power generators along with two fuel day tanks. The Sims Rigging team skillfully received the generators and tanks and pulled them into place once the crane got them partially into the building. The entire operation was completed in less than six hours, all while the hospital maintained full operational capacity.

We’re grateful for the collaboration with Brasfield & Gorrie (General Contractor) and TLC Engineering (Engineer). Together, we’re building the resilient, dependable power systems that keep healthcare facilities ready when it matters most.
